Colonel
Charge, a Driftwood stallion, was raised by Walter Payne, Grandfather of Denton Payne,
4x NFR team roper. We purchased him at 12 yrs. old. The
Driftwood temperament was certainly exemplified when we were invited to have Colonel included in the Olympic torch run in 1996. Colonel
was used for two segments, one in Horton, Kansas and the other in Denton,
Kansas. Colonel died at 23 years of age. Most of the horses pictured on the following
pages are either daughters or
grandsons and granddaughters. |
